The Race

The physical exertion of the Grossglockner Mountain Run can be compared to a half marathon. To get a rough estimate of the finishing time, you can use the time for a half marathon plus 20 minutes as a reference.

No, only a few participants run the entire distance.

It is recommended to wear specialized trail running and mountain running shoes.

No, for safety reasons, the use of walking poles is not allowed as the risk of injury is too high.

The weather in the high mountains can change rapidly. In case of bad conditions, the organizer has the right to prescribe mandatory equipment for participants. This regulation will be announced in a timely manner, at the latest the day before the event. This required equipment will be mandatory for all participants.

For example, an announcement may include items such as a backpack, mobile phone, waterproof jacket, gloves, hat, and long pants.

These measures are solely for the safety of the participants.
